MOPS International is launching the No Mom Alone movement at its annual convention, set for September 24-26 in Nashville, TN. More than 3,800 volunteer leaders who help moms make vital connections with other moms will gather for training, inspiration and networking. These volunteer leaders, mothers themselves, serve several hours each month to facilitate MOPS groups where moms can find a support network and grow as women, mothers and leaders. The MOPS International staff works alongside these mom volunteers to provide strategic direction, leadership training and resources to equip and mobilize moms into leaders. MOPS International is focused on reaching every mom so that moms do not have to handle mothering alone. Life on Planet Mom means finding community, friendship and support in local MOPS groups across the nation and around the world. Moms at the convention will participate in promoting the New Mom Gift Project as part of the No Mom Alone movement. Participants will write encouraging notes to new mothers and help raise money for new mom gifts. 19,000 gifts will be distributed to new mothers at hospitals and pregnancy centers this year. The New Mom Gift Project offers a tangible way to welcome moms into the community of mothering, providing resources to promote community and prevent isolation.
