In April, TLC’s Chilli partnered with the Dasani brand to give women one of her staple beauty secrets: water. “People have always asked me questions about how to take care of their skin. Drinking plenty of water has always been a part of my daily routine. It hydrates the skin keeping it taut and supple,” she reveals. The campaign which states “The simple moments are most refreshing” will be launched in radio, print, digital and in-store ads. The campaign targets African-American moms “in an effort to increase household penetration and frequency,” said Yolanda White, assistant vice president of African-American marketing for Coca-Cola. Chilli’s eleven year-old son is pictured alongside her in many of the ads.

“Although I’ve had a wonderful career, being a mother is the job I was truly born to do,” Chilli explains. “To me there is no question in the balance between career and family. My son always comes first, everything else has to fall into place behind him.” Her celebratory career, dedication to health and wellness and her uncompromising values made Chilli a perfect candidate to represent the Dasani brand. “We selected Chilli because she’s a 38-year-old single mom who embodies the struggles and the balance we see in our target audience,” said White. “She gives reassurance to moms that you can still be a great mom, take care of yourself and look beautiful.”
