With the “mompreneur” trend on the rise, companies are creating more ways to help moms succeed in business while also being at home with the family.  On March 20, 2008, the Mommy Mastermind hosted “Marketing on a Shoestring Budget” at the family-friendly NY Kids Club. At this event, savvy mompreneurs discussed low-cost business marketing strategies –while their kids enjoyed supervised activities with NY Kids Club coaches. This event offered urban at-home moms an opportunity to casually network — with their children alongside them.  “These are the new brand of stay-at-home moms,” says Angelia Kane, creator of the Mommy Mastermind. “They are informed and realistic about the challenges of raising their children while growing their businesses.”  Kane explains that she built the Mommy Mastermind for women who have paused or modified their careers to be home with their children. “We aim to make this easier for them through our networking events, website and growing podcast,” she says.
